EDWARD NORTON NAMED EARTH HOUR AMBASSADOR IN THE U.S. ----

"The realization that we are altering the climate of this planet in waysthat will not sustain our civilization is clearly the defining challengeof our time. Global political leaders have failed to act with urgencyor to take serious action to address this threat. With the conferencein Copenhagen fast approaching we need to urge our leaders to adopt firm commitments to curbing carbon emissions by demonstrating true globalsupport for this cause.
That's why, along with World Wildlife Fund, I am encouraging people toturn off their lights for one hour on March 28th at 8:30 p.m. -- EarthHour -- and join tens of millions of people around the world in thelargest call to action on climate change in history. Earth Hour sends apowerful message to the world that we must act urgently before it's toolate. By turning out the lights , Americans will be casting a vote foraction. I hope you will join us."
